While you visit the website, cookies are placed on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that we save on your computer or mobile device when you visit the website.

Cookies are generally used to make websites work optimally, to track visitors' actions on the website, to store login details, and so on. There are different types of cookies, which can be distinguished by their origin, function and lifespan.

You can find more information about cookies at www.aboutcookies.org.

Which cookies do we use and why?

We mainly use "First party cookies". These are technical cookies used by the website, which aim to make the website work optimally. For example: settings you chose during previous visits, or a pre-filled form with data you entered during earlier visits.

We also use some "Third party cookies". These are cookies used by third parties, which aim to inform us about your browsing behaviour and your technical data. To learn more, see points 3. Analytical cookies and 4. Marketing cookies. You can switch these off.

What types of cookies are there and what do they do?

We divide the cookies we use into four categories:

1. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for a website to work properly. They allow basic functions, such as page navigation, security and loading time, to work.

  • cookies: stores your cookie choice (for 24 hours)

  • .AspNetCore.Antiforgery.*: security cookie for forms (kept for the session)

2. Personalisation cookies

Personalisation cookies store information about your choices and preferences on a website. For example, they remember your language choice, login details or the region where you live.

3. Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies collect information about visitor behaviour and the performance of the website. Based on these results, the website can be improved and visitors get a better user experience.

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service offered by Google LLC, to count visitors to our website and analyse how they use the site. This helps us determine the value of our content for our users. The lifespan of cookies varies: some expire at the end of the session, others after more than a year.

  • _ga: visitor measurement by Google Analytics

  • ga*: visitor measurement by Google Analytics

4. Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies track visitors' browsing behaviour and, on that basis, build a user profile. This profile is used to personalise your browsing experience and to show you, for example, personalised offers, advertisements, newsletters and other content that matches your interests.

How do you switch off cookies?

At the bottom of the website, you will find a link to change your cookie preferences: "wijzig cookie voorkeur".

You can also switch off, delete or change cookies in your browser. However, the website may then no longer work optimally. Do you still want to change your cookie settings? Then use the help function of your browser. Below you will find an overview of the help pages about cookies for the most used browsers.
